Aug 3, 2024- We’re hearing word tonight that a DeSoto Central baseball player has died in a traffic accident early Saturday morning in Olive Branch.
Olive Branch police were called to the 4600 block of Terrace Stone Drive about 1:19 a.m. Saturday morning to a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Olive Branch police say the crash is currently under investigation.
DeSoto Central Athletics posted the following to their social media late Saturday afternoon about catcher and infielder Tucker Rudd:

Rudd was to be a senior on the Jaguars baseball team this season and was part of the team as a junior.
Coach Brian Lewis added his own thoughts about his catcher on his social media page.
