DCS releases 24-25 school calendar

DeSoto County Schools parents can start marking their calendars for the next school year, such as when to start sending their children off to school and when to plan for spring break. The district has released the academic calendar for the 2024-25 school year.

Teachers will be back in the classroom for first time on July 29 with the first day in class for students will be on Aug. 1.

Fall break this year will be from Oct. 7-11 and Thanksgiving break will be from Nov. 25-29. Christmas break this year will come between Dec. 21-Jan. 5 with the first semester ending on Dec. 20.

Students will return to class on Jan. 7, Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is Jan 20 and the President’s Day holiday is Feb. 17.

Spring break comes between March 10-14 and students will be away from class between April 18 for Good Friday and April 21 for Easter.

The students’ last day of class is May 23 and the teachers’ final day of the school year will come on May 28.

Tenative make-up days are Feb. 17, April 21, May 27 and 28.
