DA touts crime reduction at Olive Branch chamber luncheon, police say

DeSoto County District Attorney Matt Barton delivered a “State of the County Address” at a luncheon hosted by the Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce, highlighting continued progress in reducing crime and holding violent offenders accountable, the Olive Branch Police Department said.

The police department said Barton’s remarks emphasized his office’s work with local agencies and the visible impact of that cooperation across the county.

The Olive Branch Police Department extended its appreciation to the DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office for recognizing and showcasing the department’s efforts in combating crime, the department said. It also thanked fellow DeSoto County sheriff and police agencies for their continued partnership.

The department thanked event sponsors Chick-fil-A Olive Branch, Light The Way Ministry and First Horizon Bank, and said Whispering Woods Hotel provided the lunch. “Together, we remain committed to keeping DeSoto County safe,” the department said.
