Blackwell launches first ad in Senate District 19 special election
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – State Sen. Kevin Blackwell has released his first campaign commercial ahead of the Nov. 4 Special Election for Mississippi Senate District 19. Blackwell is being challenged by Democrat Dianne Dodson Black in the Nov. 4 election
The ad highlights his record of cutting taxes, raising teacher pay, protecting women’s sports, and supporting law enforcement. Blackwell drew a contrast with Democratic challenger Black, saying voters must choose between “strong conservative leadership” and “Democrats trying to flip Mississippi’s most conservative county.”
Absentee voting is underway at the DeSoto County Courthouse for seniors, military members, and others eligible to vote early.
Pairings for the Nov. 4 special election are as follows:
- District 1: Michael McLendon (R) vs. Chris Hannah (D)
- District 2: Charlie Hoots (R) vs. Theresa Isom (D)
- District 11: Kendall Prewitt (R) vs. Reginald Jackson (D)
- District 19: Kevin Blackwell (R) vs. Dianne Dodson Black (D)
