Belly Acres welcomed in Southaven

Key Points

  • Official Welcome: The Southaven Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning for Belly Acres at Silo Square, formally welcoming the restaurant to the city’s business community.
  • Established Presence: Although the ceremony was held Friday, the restaurant has been serving customers since mid-December, following its expansion into the North Mississippi market.
  • Revitalization Milestones: The Southaven opening marks a key achievement for new owners Adam and Brian Leith, who are spearheading a “quiet turnaround” of the popular farm-to-table brand.

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — There was a gathering at Silo Square on Friday morning as the Southaven Chamber of Commerce held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new location of the Memphis-based restaurant chain Belly Acres. While the restaurant has been serving its signature “farm-fresh” burgers since mid-December, Friday’s event served as the formal induction for the brand into the Southaven business community.

The ceremony marks a significant milestone in what industry insiders have called a “quiet turnaround” for the Memphis-born institution. After facing ownership transitions and the closure of its original Overton Square flagship in 2023, the brand is now under the leadership of local owners Adam and Brian Leith.

The Southaven location, situated at 2841 May Boulevard, brings the brand’s unique aesthetic—a cross between a rustic barn and an airplane hangar—to the pedestrian-friendly development. The menu continues to emphasize sustainability, featuring 100 percent grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, and a variety of vegetarian options.

For Silo Square, the addition of Belly Acres is a strategic fit for the mixed-use development’s goal of attracting unique, non-traditional dining options. The restaurant is one of several new tenants that have transformed the Getwell Road corridor into a regional dining destination.

Belly Acres has also opened a restaurant in Collierville, which is owned by Jason Ray of Marion, Arkansas. Belly Acres hopes to reopen in the future an East Memphis restaurant in the Regalia Shopping Center that was closed last year.
