Barton releases Operation Breaking Hearts and Laws conviction results

Feb. 11, 2025-The DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office has announced the success of its “Operation Breaking Hearts and Laws,” which has secured 46 felony convictions across a range of criminal offenses.

District Attorney Matthew Barton highlighted the office’s determination and efforts to defend DeSoto County against crime. The 46 convictions reflect the prosecutor’s commitment to holding criminals accountable and dismantling dangerous activities within the community.

“These 46 convictions serve as a powerful reminder of the steadfast commitment my office shares with our partners in law enforcement to seek and find justice.” said Barton.

The convictions covered a wide array of crimes, including violent offenses, attempted murder, drug charges, theft, fraud, and other illegal activities that threaten the safety and well-being of the county’s citizens. These cases were vigorously pursued by prosecutors, law enforcement officials, and staff working together to ensure justice was served.
