Baptist DeSoto Sleep Disorders Center earns 15th consecutive accreditation from American Academy of Sleep Medicine
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — The Baptist DeSoto Sleep Disorders Center has been awarded accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) for the 15th consecutive year, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to high-quality sleep care for residents of DeSoto County and surrounding communities.
“Being recognized by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine for 15 consecutive years is a testament to our team’s commitment to providing exceptional care to our community,” said Dr. Istvan D. Wollak, director of the Baptist DeSoto Sleep Disorders Center. “I am proud of this team for continuously providing superior diagnostic services and treatment to patients so they can get the care they need close to home and live healthier lives.”

AASM accreditation is considered the gold standard in sleep medicine. To earn and maintain this five-year designation, sleep centers must meet or exceed rigorous standards in areas such as personnel qualifications, facility and equipment, policies and procedures, data acquisition, patient care, and quality assurance. Centers must also demonstrate a clear mission to improve the quality of medical care in their communities.
The Baptist DeSoto Sleep Disorders Center provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for a range of sleep-related conditions, including obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome, and narcolepsy.
Founded in 1975, the AASM is the leading professional society dedicated to advancing sleep care and enhancing sleep health. Since accrediting its first center in 1977, the organization has recognized more than 2,300 sleep centers nationwide.
