Baptist-DeSoto among report’s high-performing hospitals
Aug. 20, 2025 – Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto has been recognized as a high-performing hospital in multiple specialties by U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best Hospitals rankings. This achievement highlights the hospital’s dedication to providing top-tier medical care to the DeSoto County community and surrounding areas.
According to the annual report, Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto received a “High Performing” rating in six key areas: Heart Failure, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), Diabetes, Heart Attack, Kidney Failure, and Pneumonia. This designation signifies that the hospital performs significantly better than the national average in these specific procedures and conditions, based on patient outcomes, safety, and other objective data.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings are widely regarded as a valuable resource for patients and their doctors when choosing a hospital. The methodology evaluates data from nearly 5,000 hospitals and assesses factors like risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and the level of nursing care.
