Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux announced plans to mark its one-year anniversary in Southaven and invited patrons to join the celebration, the restaurant said.

Southaven Young Professionals will hold an On the Menu lunch and networking event March 18 featuring Jeff Jones, organizers said. The event is open to all ages and includes lunch; registration is available online.

The Southaven Chamber of Commerce said it is partnering with the Southaven Police Department, the DeSoto County Economic Development Council and other area chambers to offer a free workshop. Organizers said registration is required and questions can be sent to info@southavenchamber.com.

The north section of Bates Street between Court Street and Acorn Lane will be closed tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. for emergency sewer repair, a notice said. The notice said officials did not know how long the closure would last and would post updates when the street reopens.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, DeSoto County government said. Voters can see who is on the ballot and find their polling place on the county’s websites, the notice posted by Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams said.
